Terms of Service

Effective: 25 June 2026·Governing law: Federal Republic of Nigeria

1. Acceptance of Terms

By registering, accessing, or using Campus Assistant (the "Platform") you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"), our Privacy Policy, and our Cookie Policy. If you do not agree to all of these Terms, you must not use the Platform.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Campus Assistant Nigeria ("we", "us", or "our") under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

2. Definitions

"Platform" means the Campus Assistant website, mobile application, and all associated services.

"User" means any person who registers for or accesses the Platform, including Clients, Workers, Marketers, and administrators.

"Client" means a student user who posts tasks on the Platform.

"Worker" means a student user who accepts and completes tasks on the Platform.

"Marketer" means a user who promotes the Platform to prospective students in exchange for affiliate commissions.

"Task" means any assignment, errand, or service posted on the Platform's task marketplace.

3. Nature of the Platform

Campus Assistant is a campus-based task marketplace. We are an intermediary that connects students who post tasks ("Clients") with students who complete them ("Workers"). We do not employ Workers, guarantee task completion, or take title to any funds.

We are not a bank, payment service provider, or financial institution. We do not hold fiat currency on behalf of Users. The Platform operates as a closed-loop loyalty credit system, not a payment system regulated by the CBN.

We are not a party to any agreement between a Client and a Worker. Any dispute arising from a task engagement is between the relevant Users, subject to our Dispute Resolution Protocol.

4. Eligibility

To use the Platform you must:

(a) Be at least 15 years of age. Users aged 15–17 must have verifiable parental or guardian consent and may face additional identity verification requirements.

(b) Be a current or recent student, graduate, or staff member of a recognised Nigerian higher education institution, or a Marketer in good standing.

(c) Provide accurate, truthful registration information including your full legal name, date of birth, gender, institutional affiliation, and contact details.

(d) Not be subject to any court order or applicable law that prohibits you from using the Platform.

(e) Not have had a previous Campus Assistant account suspended or permanently banned.

We reserve the right to verify your institutional affiliation at any time using AI-assisted vetting, institutional records, or third-party data sources. Providing false information during registration is grounds for immediate account termination and may be referred to relevant authorities.

5. Account Registration & Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately at security@campusassistant.ng of any unauthorised access.

You may not share, transfer, or sell your account. Each user is permitted one active account. Duplicate account creation is prohibited and will result in the suspension of all associated accounts.

We offer optional Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) via TOTP. We strongly encourage you to enable 2FA. You bear sole responsibility for losses resulting from failure to secure your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that show signs of unauthorised access, fraud, or violation of these Terms without prior notice.

7. Subscriptions & Billing

Student (Client) accounts may optionally subscribe to a premium plan ("Subscription") to unlock enhanced features including priority task posting, increased task limits, and advanced profile tools.

Subscription fees are charged in Nigerian Naira (₦) via Paystack. Subscriptions renew automatically on a monthly basis unless cancelled. You may cancel your Subscription at any time from your dashboard; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

We reserve the right to modify Subscription pricing with 30 days' notice via email and in-app notification. Continued use of the Platform after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

No refunds are provided for partial billing periods, except where required by the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act (FCCPA) 2018 or FCCPC directives. In the event of a Platform error that results in duplicate charges, we will refund the duplicate amount within 7 business days.

Failure to pay Subscription fees may result in downgrade to the free tier and loss of premium features.

8. Task Market Rules

Tasks posted on the Platform must be lawful, clearly described, and consistent with the Platform's permitted categories.

Clients must specify the Price reward before a Task goes live. Once a Worker accepts a Task, the Price amount is locked and cannot be reduced unilaterally. Clients may only cancel a task before a Worker is assigned; after assignment, cancellation requires Worker consent or Admin mediation.

Workers must complete Tasks to the specification agreed at the time of acceptance. Workers who repeatedly abandon accepted Tasks or receive sustained negative feedback may have their ability to accept tasks restricted.

The Platform reserves the right to remove any Task that violates these Terms, applicable law, or community standards. Price will be returned to the Client if a Task is removed by the Platform.

Task payments (in Prices) are released to Workers upon Client acceptance or after a dispute is resolved in the Worker's favour. If a Client fails to respond to a completion submission within 7 days, the Platform may automatically release Prices to the Worker.

9. Referral & Affiliate Programme

Campus Assistant operates a two-tier referral programme:

(a) Student Invite: When an existing student invites a new student who makes their first Price purchase, the inviting student receives a credit (as Prices) equal to 30% of the first purchase value.

(b) Marketer Commission: Approved Marketers receive 50% of the first subscription payment from each referred subscriber and 1% of all subsequent subscription payments from that subscriber. Marketer commissions are paid as real Naira transfers via Paystack to their registered bank account, subject to minimum payout thresholds.

Commissions and referral credits are void if the referred user's account is suspended for fraud, identity misrepresentation, or policy violations.

Marketers must not engage in spam, misleading advertising, or impersonation of Campus Assistant. Violation results in immediate programme termination and forfeiture of unpaid commissions.

Commission rates, payout thresholds, and schedules are set by the Platform Administrator and may be updated with 14 days' notice.

10. AI Monitoring & Safety

We use artificial intelligence to help keep the Platform safe. By using the Platform, you consent to the following AI processing activities:

(a) Signup Vetting: AI analyses your declared academic details (university, faculty, department, level, matric number) for plausibility at the time of registration. This helps prevent impersonation and duplicate accounts. The AI does not verify details with your institution directly; it applies plausibility checks based on publicly known institutional information.

(b) Chat Monitoring: AI monitors task-related chat messages for potential policy violations including off-platform payment solicitation, harassment, fraud attempts, and illegal activities. Flagged messages are reviewed; you will be notified if action is taken on your account. Chat monitoring applies keyword screening first, and AI analysis only where serious potential violations are detected.

(c) Fraud Detection: AI monitors Platform activity patterns to compute a fraud risk score for each account. High-risk scores may result in feature restrictions or account review.

AI decisions that adversely affect your account are reviewed by human administrators before being made final. You may contest any AI-generated decision by contacting support@campusassistant.ng.

AI processing is conducted using Anthropic's Claude API. Your data is processed in accordance with Anthropic's data processing terms and our Privacy Policy.

11. Prohibited Conduct

You may not use the Platform to:

(a) Post or complete tasks involving gambling, adult or sexual content, academic dishonesty (including writing coursework for another student), or any activity prohibited by Nigerian law.

(b) Solicit or accept payments outside the Platform's Price system in connection with a task engagement.

(c) Circumvent Price velocity controls, payment systems.

(d) Harass, threaten, defame, or discriminate against other Users on the basis of ethnicity, religion, gender, disability, or any other protected characteristic under Nigerian law.

(e) Provide false identity information, impersonate another person or institution, or create multiple accounts.

(f) Reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy any part of the Platform's infrastructure, design, or content without written permission.

(g) Transmit malware, spyware, or any code designed to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorised access to any system.

(h) Use automated bots, scripts, or tools to interact with the Platform in ways not permitted by these Terms.

(i) Engage in any conduct that harms the integrity of the Platform, its Users, or its reputation.

Violations may result in account suspension or permanent ban, Price forfeiture, civil or criminal referral to the Nigerian Police Force Cybercrime Unit (NPF-CSIRT), the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), or the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC).

12. Content & Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of any original content you post on the Platform, including task descriptions, chat messages, and profile information. By posting content, you grant Campus Assistant a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to display, store, and use that content to operate the Platform.

You must not post content that infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party. You must not upload copyrighted academic materials, pirated software, or stolen data.

Campus Assistant's own intellectual property — including its brand, design, code, and algorithms — is owned by Campus Assistant Nigeria and may not be reproduced without written permission.

User-generated content does not reflect the views of Campus Assistant. We are not liable for any content posted by Users, though we will remove content that violates these Terms upon notice.

13. Fees & Commissions

The Platform deducts a service fee (the "Platform Fee") from each completed task payment. The current Platform Fee schedule is displayed in your dashboard at the time of task posting.

Platform Fees are: — Non-refundable once a task is marked complete or a dispute is resolved. — Subject to change with 30 days' notice. — Inclusive of all applicable taxes the Platform is required to withhold.

Workers receive the agreed Price amount minus any applicable Platform Fee. The fee structure is transparent and visible before task acceptance.

14. Consumer Protections (FCCPC Framework 2023)

In compliance with the FCCPC Digital Consumer Protection Framework 2023:

(a) You may dispute any Platform charge within 14 days of the transaction date.

(b) We will acknowledge disputes within 24 hours and resolve them within 7 business days.

(c) We will not engage in unfair, deceptive, or abusive practices.

(d) We will clearly disclose all fees, commissions, and charges before you incur them.

(e) We will provide a clear and accessible complaint escalation path: first to support@campusassistant.ng, then to the FCCPC at fccpc.gov.ng if unresolved.

(f) Subscription renewals will be communicated to you at least 3 days before the renewal date.

15. Payment Flow

The Platform's Price system works as follows:

1. Client posts a Task specifying a Price reward; Prices are deducted from the Client's wallet. 2. Worker accepts the Task and completes the work. 3. Worker submits for approval. 4. Client reviews and accepts (Prices released to Worker) or disputes (mediation triggered). 5. If the Client does not respond within 7 days, Prices are automatically released to the Worker. 6. Platform Fee is deducted at the point of Price release.

Prices in are not available to the Client for other purposes while the task is active.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law:

(a) Campus Assistant's total aggregate liability to you shall not exceed the Naira value of Prices purchased by you in the preceding 30 days.

(b) We are not liable for: indirect, consequential, special, incidental, or punitive damages; loss of data; loss of profits or revenue; or damages resulting from your reliance on User-generated content.

(c) We are not liable for Task disputes, Task non-completion, or the conduct of other Users.

(d) We are not liable for Platform unavailability due to scheduled maintenance, unforeseeable technical failures, force majeure events, or actions of third-party service providers.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot be lawfully excluded under Nigerian law.

17. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your dashboard settings. Upon deletion, your profile data will be anonymised within 30 days and your personal data retained only as required by applicable law (see our Privacy Policy for retention periods).

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately and without prior notice if: — You violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines. — Your account is associated with fraudulent activity. — We are required to do so by applicable law or court order. — Continued operation of your account poses a risk to other Users or the Platform.

Upon termination for cause, any unspent Prices in your wallet are forfeited.

You may appeal a termination decision by emailing legal@campusassistant.ng within 14 days of the termination notice.

18. Dispute Resolution

User-vs-User: Disputes between Users regarding a specific task are handled via our Dispute Resolution Protocol accessible from the relevant task page. An Admin reviews the task chat history and evidence submitted by both parties, and makes an impartial ruling. Admin decisions are final.

Platform-vs-User: Disputes between you and Campus Assistant regarding these Terms or our services are governed by Nigerian law. We encourage resolution first through direct negotiation (support@campusassistant.ng), then through the FCCPC consumer complaints portal, and finally through the courts in Lagos State, Nigeria.

Nothing in this clause prevents you from referring data-related complaints to the National Data Protection Commission (NDPC) or consumer complaints to the FCCPC.

19. Privacy & Cookies

We process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023. Please read our Privacy Policy carefully — it explains what data we collect (including date of birth, gender, academic information, and social profile URLs), how we use it, and your rights.
